Worldmax WiMAX Network

On 17 June 2008, Worldmax introduced aerea, Europe's first commercial WiMAX network in Amsterdam.

The world is moving to IP, leveraging the IP foundations of WiMAX technology. Worldmax demonstrated the benefits of IP systems including rapid cost declines and ease of management. This WiMAX network architecture differentiates Worldmax' services in a digital, converged, mobile IP world.

With the Worldmax WiMAX network architecture, the WiMAX system simply becomes an extension of the IP network to the mobile user.

A network such as this will be used to connect a whole range of devices to the internet wirelessly. Instead of just pc's, laptops and cell phones surfing the internet, eventually users can also connect their cameras, gaming devices, and a number of other consumer electronics to the network via WiMAX.
