Company History
Worldmax was founded in August 2006 by Intel Capital, the venture capital arm of the leading chip producer, and Enertel Holding (owned by Greenfield Capital). At the establishment of Worldmax, Intel provided capital and WiMAX expertise, with Enertel providing funding and the existing nationwide 3.5 GHz license.
Worldmax is the sole Dutch WiMAX Network Operator and Service Provider of the brand aerea. In June 2008 Worldmax launched its WiMAX network in a soft launch mode in the city of Amsterdam, which makes Worldmax not only the first mover in the Dutch market, but also world wide. The network is built for high quality and high speed mobile services and offers an ubiquitous coverage for both indoor and outdoor usage.
